The
Latest in iPad News
As
you may know, Apple, Inc. is always looking for ways to improve its products;
hence, their stellar reputation. At this time, its California based facility
is working on the next generation iPad 3, which promises to take the industry
by storm. This new model is going to have the best portable computing
capabilities of any mobile device.
The
most recent patent applications with the United States Patent & Trademark
Office revealed that Apple is designing an “augmented reality platform” for the
iPad. And those who’ve seen what it can do can’t say enough about it.
One
of the documents suggests that Apple’s engineers are contemplating splitting
the screen; this means that the would show an object as normally seen
through a camera lens; and it would also display a super-imposed image on the
other section of the screen. Simply stated, the system would produce an image
streaming from the camera while adding computer-generated visuals to it. So if
you were to look at a picture of New York’s skyline on the iPad, you’d also
obtain information on what you were seeing.
And
according to other documents that were also filed with the U.S. Patent office,
iPad engineers are working diligently at enhancing the gyroscopes and magnetometers.
These are the instruments that allow you to rotate the iPad 360 degrees without
losing the image or that let you view something in 3D. Thus, when you move the
device you get a different view; you may see New York from different angles.
In
addition, iPad experts have gone back to the drawing board; they’re trying to
create an application that will allow you to share the 3D computer-generated
visuals on the iPad with other devices. So, if you want to send the image of New York’s famous landmarks to your friend’s mobile telephone, you’ll be able to do so by
pressing on the “share” button.
Note
that “augmented reality” applications are already in existence in the mobile
market. But none are as intricate and as advanced as what Apple is coming up with
for the future iPad.
So
while the iPad 2 wowed us all, the next model promises to be something we won’t
be able to stop talking about.
